Udupi, Aug 26: In connection with the Karkala rape case, police have arrested a third suspect, Abhay (23) from Karkala, as confirmed by Udupi District Superintendent of Police, Dr Arun K. This follows the earlier arrest of two suspects.
The investigation revealed that Abhay supplied drugs to the prime accused, Altaf, and attempted to help him evade capture after the crime.
Abhay is now in police custody and will be presented before the court on Tuesday, August 27, where authorities will seek his custody for further investigation. The probe is ongoing to uncover all details and proceed with the necessary legal actions. Abhay has also been charged under the NDPS Act.
Two other suspects remain in custody as the police continue to investigate their involvement and work towards a swift conclusion to the case.
