Beltangady: St Raphael Church Badyar organizes ‘Jalabandhan’

Beltangady, Aug 28: Water harvesting awareness programme ‘Jalabhandhan’ was held at St Raphael Church Badyar on Sunday August 25. After the Mass, practical demonstration session was planned to create awareness among the community on water harvesting methods to open wells and bore wells. Large number of faithful participated in this interactive session.

Later in the church hall, an awareness talk was organized and Dr UP Shivanand CEO, “Sudhi” media group Belthangady was the resource person.

This programme was jointly organized by Catholic Sabha Badyar unit in association with ICYM Badyar and commission for environment Badyar church. Fr Roshan Crasta parish priest of Badyar church and administrator of Fr LM Pinto Hospital presided over the programme.

Valerian Crasta vice president parish pastoral parishad, Premlatha Frank secretary parish pastoral parishad, Ravi Goveas president Catholic Sabha, Vinitha Fernandes president ICYM, Maxim Sequiera chairperson for the commission of environment were present on the dais.

Members of ICYM invoked God’s blessings through a prayer Song. Arvin Goveas welcomed the gathering. Ravi Goveas proposed vote of thanks. Jerald D’Souza compered the programme.
