Bantwal, Aug 29: BJP Yuva Morcha in Bantwal held a roadblock at B C Road on Wednesday evening under the leadership of MLA Rajesh Naik, protesting the non-registration of an FIR against MLC Ivan D’Souza for his alleged anti-national statement.

BJP state leader Vikas Puttur said, “Ivan D’Souza, who has gained entry to the legislative council through the back door by supporting chief minister Siddaramaiah, lacks the capability to be a people’s representative. The Congress government has no moral right to continue in power. BJP is a party that respects the constitution and the law of the land. Siddaramaiah is a corrupt CM who plays politics in the name of Dalits. The Congress is an anti-Dalit government.

“Police have not found any section to register a case against Ivan D’Souza, yet they registered a suo moto case against BJP MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Bharath Shetty, and Harish Poonja within an hour. This has raised public suspicion. The Siddaramaiah government will not remain in power for long; the BJP will soon assume power. Police officers should keep this in mind.

“It is shameful that the Congress is ruling Bantwal city municipality by joining hands with the banned PFI political wing SDPI. Development works in Karnataka have come to a halt, and not a single rupee of grant is being released for these projects,” he said.

MLA Rajesh Naik, BJP Bantwal Mandala President Chennappa Kotian, Yuva Morcha President Dinesh Dambedaar, and other party leaders including Harikrishna Bantwal, Sulochana G K Bhat, Govinda Prabhu, Sudarshan Baja, Shivaprasad Shetty, Hariprasad Bhandaribettu, Dinesh Amtoor, Prabhakar Prabhu, Sanjeeva Poojary Panjikallu, Sarapadi Ashoka Shetty, Sandesh Shetty, Ramadas Bantwal, Dinesh Bhandary, Purushottama Salian, Janardhana Bondala, Ravish Shetty, Devappa Poojary, Purushottama Shetty, Rashmith Shetty, Kamalaskhi Poojary, and Bharathi Shetty were present.

Sampath Kotian welcomed the gathering, while Suresh Kotian delivered the vote of thanks.
