Bangalore: Yeddyurappa Gets Anticipatory Bail

Bangalore, Nov 16 (IANS): In a breather for former Karnataka chief minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, the high court Wednesday granted him anticipatory bail in two corruption cases.

Justice H. Billappa of the high court granted bail to the 68-year-old Bharatiya Janata Party leader on condition that he furnish a bond for Rs.200,000, two sureties for the same amount each and not tamper with evidence.

Yeddyurappa is already out of jail on bail in two other corruption cases and has sought anticipatory bail in a fifth case.

The five cases of corruption and illegal land deals were filed by two Bangalore advocates Sirajin Basha and K.N. Balaraj in January this year.

Yeddyurappa, BJP's first chief minister in Karnataka, was in Bangalore's central jail for 21 days from Oct 19, though he was arrested Oct 15 in two cases. He spent only a few hours in jail Oct 15 and spent three days in two hospitals complaining of chest pain.

He resigned as chief minister July 31 after the then Lokayukta (ombudsman) N. Santosh Hegde recommended his trial for corruption in an illegal mining scandal.

When yeddi was arrested and put in jail he was suddenly fell sick and rushed to hospital but when he was bailed out fromt he jail still he sounds fine! Mystery or miracle? The truth is yeddi is the best actor. He is beter than Dr. Raj kumar. Padma bhushana award must be given for acting as sick patient on the sick bed. One more talent found in him which is other than stealing and lieing. Which was never recognised by his school teachers at the time of his schooling.

Wonderful news. Congratulations BSY. Even Lokayuktha case would not stand in the court. As per Mr Hegde's report, BSY's Prerana trust took 30crores in cheque fron Jindal. As long as Preran Trust can show the expenditure of these 30Crores and Jindal can show in in its balance sheet, even this case will not stand in the court. So some more GOOD news would follow and BSY needs BJP satte president post or he may form YSR party. Congress and BJO need to strugle in Karnataka for 2nd and 3rd place and YSR party has bright chances with Lingayath and Nayaka communiy support. Jai ho BSY

Dear Daiji readers Have yougone through the Judgement given by Learned Judge Hon Justice Pinto? which was delivered before this Hon Justice Billapas Judgement .If not please read here which I got through some sources Justice Pinto said Section 48 of the Land Acquisition Act provides for denotification of land by the government and noted “no fault can be made out against the accused for this as the said act (denotification) is not a crime in nature even if denotification is done violating rules”. The court also held the lower court should not have taken into consideration the documents furnished by the complainants, which had not been verified or subjected to scrutiny. Justice Pinto observed the lower court had relied on the sworn statement by the complainant without taking into account whether the documents submitted by him were verified and subjected to scrutiny. The complainant has not averred that the documents furnished by him are “true”, the judge observed and d “therefore, there is no impediment in granting bail”. He also noted the sworn statement by the complainant did not disclose any offence made under the provisions of IPC and Prevention of Corruption Act. It appears that Governor Bhardwaj given permission to prosecute Yeddiruppa on the basis of forged documents given by Advocate Bhasha
