Udupi, Sep 2: The process of linking Aadhaar cards to the RTCs (Record of Rights, Tenancy, and Crops) of farmers is currently underway, with approximately 65% of farmers having completed the process, according to Udupi deputy commissioner (DC) Dr K Vidyakumari.
In a statement, the DC said, “The government has directed landowners in the district to link their RTCs with Aadhaar within one week. However, some citizens are hesitant to do so, which is hindering the progress of this work.
“This linking is crucial for timely provision of government facilities to farmers and to prevent any illegal changes in Khata. Farmers should contact their village administrative officer within three days, bringing their RTC, Aadhaar details, and the mobile number linked to their Aadhaar.
“Landowners residing out of state or overseas should have the linking done through their family members or relatives. This process can only be completed through village administrative officers; it cannot be done at cyber centers or Grama One centers.
“Landowners who have not yet linked their Aadhaar to the RTC will lose access to government facilities in the coming days. Therefore, they should immediately contact the village administrative officials to complete the process,” she said.
