Mangaluru: ICYM along with education commission, Omzoor units organize Teacher's Day

Mangaluru, Sep 2: ICYM Omzoor along with education commission, Omzoor unit organized Teacher's Day on 1 September 2024, Sunday for all the current and retired teachers of the parish.

Soon after the Holy Eucharistic celebration Teacher's Day was conducted at the Holy Family Sabha Bhavan where the Teachers were served breakfast.

Programme began with education commission conducting a action song for all the teachers after the breakfast. God's blessings were invoked by singing a hymn.

Parish priest Fr William Menezes, vice president of parish pastoral commission Arthur D’Souza, secretary of parish pastoral commission Daffny Lewis, Br Denzil Rodrigues, Shikpa Ayog coordinator Vinaya Braggs, superior of St Charles Borromeo Convent Sr Luciana, ICYM president Hancil Rodrigues and Florine Aranha on behalf of all the teachers inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.

Education commission coordinator Vinaya Braggs welcomed the gathering.

The guests on the dais were welcomed with a flower. Fr William Menezes gave the presidential speech. 'Thoughts of a student' Speech was given by Jenisha Lewis.

Cultural programme was organized for all the teachers which included three games and A dance performed by ICYM members. Line dance was performed by ICYM members along with the teachers.

Winners of the games were awarded with a prize. Feedback of the event was given by Reshma D’Souza and Florine Aranha. president Hancil Rodrigues proposed the vote of thanks. Henrietta Sequeira compered the programme.

Around 40 teachers were present for the programme. All the teachers were honoured with a token of love and gratitude. The event concluded on a high note with baila.
