Bantwal: ICYM Allipade unit organises 'Kutma Khel'

Bantwal, Sep 3: On the September 1, after the Mass and Novena, all parishioners were provided with breakfast. The march past of the 7 wards began from the church ground to the school ground. Guests were called to the stage, including Fr Robert D'Souza (parish priest), brother Ajay D'Souza, Naveen Moras, Kiran Noronha, and Sr Narsiza.

ICYM animators Wilson D'Souza and Sr Deepa were also present, along with ICYM Bantwal deanery president Arrol Sequeira, Red Drop representative Roshan Sequeira, Deanery committee member Roshni Sequeira, ICYM Allipade unit president Mishal, secretary Primal, and ICYM Mangalore diocese social cause secretary Wilson Pinto.

The main guests of the event were couples who had completed a 50-year wedding journey: Mark and Mary Tauro from St Joseph Ward, and Louis and Sevrine Sequeira from Nithyadar Ward. Referees and volunteers Alwin and the ICYM Loretto youths were also present for the stage programme.

Later, the stage programme began with a prayer song, followed by the inauguration, where all the guests inaugurated the day's event. Sports secretary Ria Moras welcomed everyone, and Louis Sequeira shared his experience for five minutes. Later, Fr Robert D'Souza delivered his speech about Kutma Khel. The two couples were felicitated with bouquets, and then Primal Pinto, the secretary of the ICYM Allipade unit, delivered the vote of thanks.

Later, all ICYM members, along with the ICYM Bantwal deanery president and committee members, started action songs that all the wards and the parish priest, Brother Ajay, enjoyed and joined in. A mass performance by the ICYM director and brother Ajay, along with ICYM members, was truly impressive.

Later, the real games began, and everyone enjoyed, whether they won or lost. Lunch was provided to everyone, and ICYM Mangalore diocese director Fr Ashwin, secretary Ashlin, vice president Nihan Sequeira, and ICYM Karnataka regional representative Jaison, along with other committee members, visited. The evening stage programme began with Fr Robert speaking first. Later, the ICYM Allipade youth were announced as the second runners-up in Gadyanth Udkana, organized by ICYM Bantwal deanery, and the prize was distributed there.

Finally, it was time to announce the champions. Prizes were distributed first, with St John the Baptist ward winning the championship trophy, Sacred Heart of Jesus Ward securing first runners-up, and St Sebastian ward becoming the second runners-up. Other complementary prizes were also given. Alwin and the youth of Loretto received a memento from the ICYM Allipade Unit. Although everything seemed to be concluding, the rain dance began, and everyone enjoyed dancing in the rain.
