Inauguration of Navadurga Lekhana Yajna committee held at Kaup Hosa Marigudi

Kaup, Sep 3: The inauguration of Navadurga Lekhana Yajna Committee and Lekhana Sankalpa held through Mangala Gouri Pooja, at Kaup Hosa Marigudi on September 3.

The event began with Vidwan K P Kumaraguru Tantri performing the traditional Pooja ritual, marking the start of the Lekhana Yajna. Following the ritual a formal programme was conducted. The Durga Pooja was inaugurated by nine distinguished women, who illuminated nine lamps as part of the ceremony.

The event was inaugurated by Avadootha Sri Vinay Guruji, Gourigadde, who lit the ceremonial lamp. This was followed by Navadurga Yajna, during which 99 women participated by holding lamps, chanting Devi mantras and offering flowers to the goddess.

Avadootha Sri Vinaya Guruji, Gourigadde, addressing the gathering in his inaugural note, highlighted the spiritual significance of the wooden idol holding greater power, and said, “The Mariamma idol embodies Mahalakshmi, Mahakali and Saraswathi in one form. The Ganapathi represents the child, while Durga signifies the mother. Worshipping Shaila Putri, a form of Durga, fosters inner confidence.”

Guruji noted that the energy centers in our bodies are linked to Navadurga, underscoring the importance of worshiping Navadurga for spiritual well-being. “The mantra chanting nourishes the soul and collective chanting amplifies its power. Women’s embody both fire and divinity, capable of representing both Mahalakshmi and Kali. The Shakthi should be honored by Shakthi itself. Women play a crucial role in preserving traditional practices. Chanting the Durga mantra purifies the mind and fosters positivity.”

Vasudeva Shetty, working president of Kaup Hosa Marigudi renovation committee, in his introductory note said, “With the grace of Mariamma, we have managed to raise the necessary funds for the construction of the temple. She is always situated here and is blessing us. The Brahmakalash event will take place in March 2025. A website has been updated for the active participation of youth, where necessary information about Kaup Mari Gudi and goddess will be posted.”

Dr G Shankar, founder and chairman of Habit Technology Group, officially launched the website and remarked, “The deity will take what she needs, it’s not about money. Offering your service in various ways is what truly matters. People from all communities should come together for this great work. Devotees should come willingly, as devotion is a key. Even a small donation of one rupee can lead to immense blessings.”

Ragupathi Bhat, president Navadurga Lekhana Yajna Committee, in his note announced a target of 99,999 registrations for the Navadurga Patana. “From October 29 with the help of conveners of constituencies will make people aware of benefits of Navadurga Patana, especially in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada. On February 4 Navachandi Yaga will be held as a part of lekhana Yajna.”

The event also featured a felicitation ceremony for Amilineni Surendra Babu, MLA Andhra Pradesh. The heads of various units were honored on the occasion.

Damodar Barkur mastered the ceremony. Vasudeva Shetty welcomed the gathering.

The event was attended by additional deputy commissioner Mamatha Devi, Tehsildar Prathibha, Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, MP Kota Srinivas Poojary, MLA Udupi Yashpal Suvarna, MLA Kundapur Kiran Kumar Kodgi, MLA Byndoor Gururaj Gantihole, Former MLA Lalaji R Mendon, honorary president Kaup Hosa Marigudi temple renovation committee Ravi Sundar Shetty, businessmen Uday Shetty Muniyal, president Alva's foundation Dr Mohan Alva, treasurer Hosa Marigudi temple Ravikiran, Mahesh Vikram Hegde and others.
