Udupi, Nov 17: Mandavi Builders and Developers, which has constructed 26 complexes till now, has created a revolution of sorts in the district. The concern, which used to launch one project at a time in the past, began to start construction of two complexes on the same day thereafter. Now, it has planned to start three projects together on a single day.
The construction of the three new projects, ‘Mandavi Gokul’, ‘Mandavi Greens’ and ‘Mandavi Trade Center’, will be initiated together on Friday November 18.

Jerry Vincent Dias promoted and founded Mandavi Builders in 1996. Jerry, who has not looked back since, has completed 26 landmark buildings in Mangalore and Manipal in a short span of time. The solid blocks required for his buildings are manufactured in two units located in Manipal industrial yard.
Jerry says he is interested in constructing a complex at reasonable rates for the middle income group persons from the country and abroad at Vidyaratna Nagar in Manipal in future. He said he is taking up new projects in central parts of the city, as consumers have been urging him to build houses near bus stand and Kalsanka areas of the town.
His son, Glen Dias, started getting training in the field of construction as early as when he was in pre-university. He has since completed his civil engineering degree course, and got fully involved with the projects of his father. Jerry’s other son, Jayson Dias, who is pursuing BBM, is also joining hands with his father.
‘Mandavi Trade Center’ will be an out-and-out commercial complex. This project will come up in a 37 cents plot by the side of Udupi-Manipal main road near Kadiyali. It will have a basement, ground floor, and three upper stories. The complex will be equipped with capsule lift and stretcher lift for the convenience of visitors and also for carrying goods. Every floor will have 15 spacious stalls. The complex, which will have roads on three sides, is at the focal point between Udupi and Manipal. It will be equipped with a spacious parking lot and generator for ensuring 24-hour power supply.
‘Mandavi Gokul’, a residential complex having one, two, and three-bedroom apartments, is located very near to the main road by the side of Kalsanka-Rajangana cross road. The complex, set to come on a 54 cents plot, will have 48 apartments.
‘Mandavi Greens’ will be built in 32 cents land by the side of Mandavi Residency at Shiribeedu near the city bus stand. It will have 28 apartments of one, two, and three bedrooms. Both Mandavi Gokul and Mandavi Greens are in the centre of the city, very near to temples, mosque, church, bus stand, etc. Both these complexes will have parking accommodation in the basement, with apartments in the remaining four floors. These projects will have stretcher lifts.
All the three complexes will have a well, a bore well, and 24-hour water supply from the municipality.
Fr Godfrey Saldanha, priest of Neermarga Mangalore church, and Fr Philip Neri Aranha, priest of Kallianpur church, will bless the projects on Friday morning. After the blessing ceremony in all the three places, a meeting will be organized at the location of Mandavi Trade Centre at 9 am.
A handful of apartments are available for sale at ‘Mandavi Emerald’ complex having 400 flats, which is nearing completion at Vidyaratna Nagar in Manipal. Mandavi Avenue complex at Ajjarkad here too is nearing completion. Five apartments with four bedrooms each are available for sale in ‘Mandavi Harmony’ complex located at Ambalpady Junction on national highway.
