Mangaluru: Expert PU College celebrates Teachers' Day

Mangaluru, Sept 5: Expert Pre-University College, celebrated Teachers' Day with great zeal and paying tribute to the teaching fraternity on the birthday of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, India's former president.

Dr Kasturi Mohan Pai, a renowned former professor, Govt Wenlock Hospital & KMC Hospital, chief physician, Mangaluru Heart Centre was the chief guest. He offered salutations to all teachers and elaborated on traditional teacher taught relationships and learning processes.

Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman of Expert Group of Institutions, presided over the function and felicitated the chief guest. He emphasized that a true teacher enters the classroom with enthusiasm and leaves with the satisfaction of enlightening students.

Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, vice chairperson, urged students to be grateful to teachers, highlighting their sacrifices and transformative impact.

Teachers were honored with gifts, and Dhruthi V Hegde and Mahesh Devadiga shared their experiences as teachers.

The event featured cultural activities by teachers and notable attendees included Ankush N Nayak, director of IT, architect Deepika A Nayak, Dr N K Vijayan Karippal, principal, vice principals Subramanya Udupa and Raghavendra Shenoy and programme director Balakrishna Shetty.

Students Pavani Rajaneesh Varma and Raina Khanam welcomed the gathering. Sheetal M T and Dheeren Shetty proposed a vote of thanks. Janyashree and Kushal hosted the programme.
