Udupi, Sep 5: G M Vidyaniketan Public School, celebrated Teacher’s Day on Thursday, September 5.

N M Poojary, retired teacher of U Kamalabai High School, in his note, extended his best wishes to the teachers and emphasised, "Teachers and parents are the true well-wishers of children. The guidance provided by them is always with good intentions and that the more respect and love we show them, the better we grow."

Prakashchandra Shetty, president of the School Management Committee, spoke about the significance of parents as the first teachers and the importance of following their guidance. He noted that teachers illuminate the path for students' futures and should always be honoured and remembered.

Principal George Kurian spoke about how teachers identify and nurture the skills in students, thus contributing to the development of exceptional citizens for society. He expressed pride in being a teacher.

The programme included various activities such as volleyball and tug-of-war matches between teachers and students, as well as recreational games for the teachers.

Students extended their best wishes to the teachers through greetings, dance performances, and songs.
