Brahmavar, Sep 5: MCC Bank Ltd, celebrated Teachers Day on September 4, at the branch premises. The event was presided over by ‘Sahakara Ratna’ Anil Lobo, chairman of MCC Bank Ltd.
The celebration witnessed the participation of 35 teachers, who were honoured during the event. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Elroy Kiran Crasto, director of MCC Bank Ltd. A floral tribute was offered to Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the visionary whose birthday is observed as 'Teachers Day' across India.
Rosy Theresa D'Silva, the senior-most teacher present, was felicitated for her remarkable 35 years of selfless service in the teaching profession. Chairman Anil Lobo also felicitated all the teachers in attendance, acknowledging their valuable contributions to society.
In a special address, social worker K Ashok Bhat spoke about the significant role that teachers have played in shaping his life and emphasised the critical role teachers play in building a healthy society. Abhilasha, principal of SMS English Medium CBSE School, echoed this sentiment, stating that a teacher is anyone who provides guidance and that the influence of teachers extends far beyond the classroom.
Chairman Anil Lobo, in his presidential address, expressed his joy at celebrating Teachers Day at the Brahmavar Branch, marking a historic first in MCC Bank’s 112-year journey. He praised the teachers for their pivotal role in shaping the careers of young students and contributing to the growth of the nation.
The event was graced by several notable guests, including MCC Bank chairman Anil Lobo, director Elroy Kiran Crasto, branch manager Ovin Rebello, chief guest and social worker K Ashok Bhat, principal Abhilasha, and retired Gangolli School teacher Annie Crasta.
The staff members of MCC Bank Brahmavar Branch celebrated the occasion with a special song, and the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by branch manager Ovin Rebello. The event was expertly compered by Ancilla Fernandes.
