Mangaluru, Sep 6: On a day dedicated to honouring the unsung heroes of education, Expert PU College, Kodialbail radiated with gratitude and celebration on Teachers’ Day, an annual tribute to the hard work of their teachers and staff who shape young minds and ignite the flames of curiosity.
Prof B S Moodithaya, a renowned chemistry expert, graced the event. He was honoured on this day for being the teacher exemplary - a touching segment in recognition of his dedication and commitment to the student's growth and well-being. His succinct yet powerful words for his students, “If you don’t clarify your doubts in the class thinking that you will be considered a fool. You will remain a fool forever, if you never get it clarified,” resonated and encapsulated the profound bond between teachers and students.
Chairman, Prof Narendra L Nayak, highlighted the institution's commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also the overall development of students. Appreciating the true gems of the institution, he said, “The teachers are there to mend you. They are the assets of our institution who are dedicated and hardworking. Irrespective of their difficulties, they give their best to the students when they enter the class.”
A poignant moment followed the lighting of the lamp and a floral tribute to Dr S Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary we commemorate as Teachers’ Day, reminding everyone of the legacy of wisdom and compassion that educators need to carry forward. As the echoes of gratitude reverberated through the college corridors, it was clear that the teachers here are not just instructors; they are architects of dreams, sculptors of character, and unwavering beacons of inspiration.
'Guru Vandana', a soulful rendition that echoed throughout the Expodium with students’ voices harmonizing their heartfelt appreciation for their mentors. This age-old tradition brought spiritual calmness and unity to the gathering.
The cultural fiesta unfolded, leaving hearts aglow. Students and teachers revelled in the festivities, their spirits lifted by music, dance, and camaraderie. It was an ode to the guiding lights the beloved teachers, who sparkle the path of knowledge.
Vice chairperson, Dr Ushaprabha N Nayak, shared her insights on the significance of teachers in shaping the future of society. In her keynote address, she stated, “All of us have become teachers not by chance, but by choice. Whatever steps we take is considering the goodness of our students.” Taking a trip down memory lane, she recollected, Chaya Mani one of her teachers who taught her when she was young who moulded, and crafted her in her younger days to who she is today.
The student council president, Vaishnavi delivered the vote of thanks. Principal, Ramachandra Bhat, college IT director, Ankush N Nayak, architect, Deepika A Nayak, member of academic committee, B Vinay Kumar also graced the occasion.
