Mangaluru, Sep 6: On September 5, St Agnes PU College witnessed a spirited celebration of Teachers’ Day. The event was a heartfelt tribute to the dedication and hard work of the teaching and support staff.
The day began with a warm welcome by the students, who had scrupulously planned a series of games and a cultural cornucopia of activities and programmes to engage the teachers and make them feel appreciated. The program commenced with a prayer dance, followed by a skit that acknowledged the multifarious roles that teachers play in the lives of their students. A PPT depicting the candid moments of the interaction between teachers and students was screened. An engrossing dance performance and a spoof on Taare Zameen Par by the cabinet members was the icing on the cake. Vesika and group belted out a soulful song that captured the nuances of what a teacher is. The spot games brought out the lighter side of the teachers, allowing them to unwind and enjoy the day in a relaxed atmosphere. Laughter and camaraderie filled the air as teachers participated enthusiastically. Sanidhya and Arya were the charismatic emcees who skillfully guided the entire event.
The college cabinet, council members and students took the initiative of planning how the day would unfold and worked tirelessly to ensure that teachers were pampered and made to feel like royalty. Dr P V Shobha, Department of Hindi wholeheartedly thanked the students for the efforts taken by them to make the day a delightful one.
Following the games and cultural programmes lovingly organised by the students based on the theme of ‘Royalty’, the PTA members took over the celebrations by hosting various enjoyable games and activities designed to entertain the teachers. A special fellowship meal was organised by the management in honor of the teachers.
The celebration was a memorable one, reflecting the deep respect and affection the students and the PTA members have for the teachers. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Raksha, Department of Biology. who acknowledged the efforts of the PTA in making the day a memorable one for the teachers.
