Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Sep 9: A woman was seriously injured at Ramanagara, Kinnigoli, after being hit by a speeding auto-rickshaw while crossing the road.

The injured woman, Chethana (35), a resident of Rajaratnapura, was collecting pigmy deposits when the accident occurred. She was on her way to pick up her daughter, Vaibhavi, a seventh-grade student, from her tuition center. As Chethana crossed the road, an auto-rickshaw traveling at high speed from Kateel to Kinnigoli struck her and overturned.

The accident took place in front of Vaibhavi. Chethana was trapped under the auto-rickshaw, but Vaibhavi and local youths quickly lifted the vehicle, rescued her, and rushed her to a private hospital in Suratkal. Chethana sustained serious injuries, while the auto-rickshaw driver, passenger, and others involved suffered minor injuries. The incident was captured on nearby CCTV.

How to trust any media reporting?. I saw the video and my feeling is that, its the lady's mistake who tried to cross the road without bothering to check anything. There may be other issues, like faulty road designing etc. but no one can cross road like that.

Rickshaws should not be allowed on highways. They have no crash equipment or safety restraint systems. It is the duty of the driver to drive at a safe speed. Would he do this to his mother ?

"This happened because of Chethana ’s haste. If she had crossed the road carefully, this accident wouldn’t have happened. Now, we can only say, Chethana , get well soon and come back home.”

It is the fault of that woman who crossed the road in a hurry without even seeing the vehicle coming at other end....the impact of collision seemed as if she hit her head on the ground with immense force... the chances of her survival are very sleak....hope she recovers soon.....
