Mangaluru: 'INNOMODEL' exhibition & competition organised by St Agnes College

Mangaluru, Sep 9: The Department of Computer Applications organised a model making exhibition & competition on September 9 at St Agnes College (Autonomous), Mangaluru themed as “INNOMODEL”.

The event displayed a world of brilliancy which showcased participation from 31 teams with enthusiasm, thoughts, stimulation and transformation through an impressive array of innovative working models.

The exhibition focussed on the innovative techniques which provided an opportunity to the students to display their creativity and problem-solving skills in software development, while embracing the flexibility and accessibility of digital tools for new development using codes. Each team was tasked with developing and presenting a functional computer application or model that addresses a real-world problem or improves existing solutions.

Sr Roopa Rodrigues AC, the vice-principal inaugurated the exhibition digitally reflecting the shift towards modern technology and virtual engagement. She expressed her views on the significance of digitalization and encouraged the students to show their excitement, inquisitiveness and interest. She emphasised that the current students are innovative and urged them to create innovations and to move beyond academics. She motivated the students on possessing the skills which will help them to develop into a positive individual.

The exhibition attracted students from St Agnes CBSE School, St Agnes High School, St Agnes Higher Primary School, staff of St Agnes PU College and St Agnes College (Autonomous), and received praise from the visitors.

Neetha Kripalini, assistant professor, Department of Computer Applications, the staff coordinator, and Malavika Shetty, HoD & assistant professor, Department of Computer Applications, faculty members of UG & PG, and students graced this occasion with their presence.

The compere of the programme was Vasishta Praveen Rai, student vice-president of Computer Applications who welcomed the gathering which began at 10:30 am and introduced the inaugurator followed by prayer. This digital format also enabled the collection of reviews and evaluations through an online platform, ensuring a smooth and efficient assessment process.

The judges were highly impressed with the level of innovation and teamwork demonstrated by the participants. The event concluded with an encouragement to continue developing their skills in the field of computer science and technology.
