Bengaluru: St John Paul II Church celebrates feast of Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary

Bengaluru, Sep 10: The feast of the Nativity of Blessed Virgin Mary (Monthi Festh) was celebrated with devotion and joy at St John Paul II Church, Kalkere, on September 8.

The ceremony started with the blessing of new corn. Children offered flowers to Infant Mary with hymn 'Moriyek Hogolsiyam'. Then followed a solemn procession to the church.

Celebration was followed by festal Mass by the main celebrant Fr Ranjith Rodrigues with grand festive hymns. A large number of faithful participated in the ceremony.

After the Mass, cake, new corn, sugar cane, and sweet corn distributed. Children enjoyed with fun games. Lastly, the celebration ends with delicious traditional vegetarian food served for all.
