Puttur: Two cars and truck collide at Kempuhole – One dead, five injured

Puttur, Sep 10: A head-on collision involving two cars and a truck occurred near Kempuhole on the Shiradi Ghat stretch of NH 75, leaving one person dead and five others injured.

The deceased has been identified as Chandregowda (50), a resident of Nayakarahalli near Kattaya, Hassan. Shaila and Kirana, passengers in one of the cars, sustained serious injuries. The injured were first treated at Sakleshpur Government Hospital before being transferred to Hassan for advanced medical care.

The cars were traveling from Dharmasthala to Bengaluru when one of the drivers attempted to overtake the other vehicle. In doing so, it collided with a truck carrying iron rods, which was coming from the opposite direction at a bend in the Kempuhole road. The truck narrowly avoided plunging into a deep gorge.

Sakleshpur rural police visited the scene and are conducting further investigations.
