Cong has resorted to hate politics in Udupi: Shilpa G Suvarna

Udupi, Sep 10: “The Congress party, having lost its foothold in Udupi district due to continuous electoral defeats, has reached a state of intolerance. With no organizational strength in the district, the Congress has resorted to using hate politics as a shield,” said Shilpa G Suvarna, president BJP Mahila Morcha.

The BJP condemned the filing of criminal cases against those who protested the state government's decision to rescind the 'Best Teacher Award' given to B G Ramakrishna from Kundapur. The protest was organized by the Udupi District Yuva Morcha and Mahila Morcha in response to the state Congress government's alleged alignment with communal interests.

Shilpa J Suvarna, general secretary of the BJP Women’s Morcha, condemned the state government’s actions, stating that the filing of non-bailable cases against Udupi MLA Yashpal Suvarna and eleven other party officials is a severe overreach. Shilpa criticized the state government's move as an attempt to intimidate and suppress dissent.

Shilpa accused Congress of using the legal system to retaliate against the protesters instead of addressing their concerns. “Rather than accepting the protest as a political challenge, Congress is using vindictive politics by filing cases against the protesters to cover up their failures,” she said.

Shilpa further alleged that Congress is engaging in power abuse to intimidate BJP workers in Udupi and said, “Congress’ attempts to intimidate our workers with such baseless cases will only be met with resistance. Our workers are committed and will not be deterred by these tactics.”
