Udupi, Sep 12: The inaugural function of "Hackothsava 2024", a national-level, 36-hour Hackathon organised by the department of computer science & engineering of Shri Madhwa Vadiraja Institute of Technology and Management in association with the institution’s innovation cell and Indian society for Technical Education and IEEE student chapter was held on September 11 at the college premises.
Dr Tirumaleshwara Bhat, principal of the college presided over the function and also inaugurated the event. He addressed the participants felt such events will help students to develop their leadership skills. He observed the participation of students across India and this will help in understanding the diverse culture of the nation. Finally, he appealed to the student community to utilise this opportunity to improve their technical skills and make themself industry ready.
Dr Ganesh Aithal, vice-principal of SMVITM was also present on the dais.
Deepak Rao M, assistant professor, department of computer science & engineering welcomed the gathering and gave a brief prelude to the event. Dr Soumya J Bhat, head of department of computer science rendered the vote of thanks.
Adithi Nayak from final year computer science & engineering was the master of ceremony for the programme. Abhishek Kini led the event with his invocation.
As many as 40 teams from across India with a few internal teams participated in the event for a prize pool of Rs 1 lac.
