Lucknow, Nov 20: Condemning the curtailment of assembly session, a delegation of Samajwadi Party (SP) led by leader of opposition Shivpal Yadav demanded dismissal of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) government on Sunday.

Yadav submitted a memorandum to the state governor BL Joshi urging him to dismiss the state government take steps to safeguard the constitution and restoration of democratic set up in the state. "We demanded during the Business Advisory Meeting with the Speaker for extending the duration of assembly session. We were informed that it is only for two days," he said. Shivpal claimed that their demand was turned down by the Speaker.
"As has been the practice in the past that the assembly session has been dissolved sine die much before the stipulated duration. We are apprehensive that the session will be dissolved just after the first day," he said. Shivpal stated that Chief Minister (CM) Mayawati is planning to bring the proposal for division of the state. "This proposal will brought by deceit. The Business Advisory Committee meeting had only Vote on Account ion agenda. To prevent this we have intimated the Speaker that SP will table no-confidence motion against the state government. Still the Speaker denied extension of the house," he said.
Shivpal also apprised the governor that CM Mayawati is neck deep in graft and does not want that house should continue for long as she will be exposed.
Meanwhile, in another development SP state spokesperson, Rajendra Choudhary has pooh-poohed the Congress led UPA government's announcement of a relief package for the weavers. "It is just an election stunt as it has not taken any measures for their development during past four years. The best thing Congress can do for the nation is to curtail price rise," he said.
