Kasargod: Goods train mows down three women while crossing tracks

Kasargod, Sep 14: In a tragic turn of events on Saturday, September 14, in the evening, three women lost their lives when they were struck by a train at Kanhangad railway station in Kasaragod district.

The victims — Chinnamma (70), Angel (30), and Alice Thomas (60) — were on their way from Kottayam to attend a wedding in Rajapur Kallar.

The accident occurred around 7:30 pm as they were crossing the tracks to board the Malabar Express.

The cargo train heading towards Mangaluru ran over them, leading to their immediate deaths.

The Hosadurga police have launched an investigation into the incident.
