Daijiworld Media Network – Kundapur (MS)

Kundapur, Sep 15: An electric two-wheeler and a TVS Jupiter scooter parked in front of a house in Moodubettu, near the Ulthoor-Halthoor connecting road in Thekkatte, were destroyed by fire around 4:30 am on September 14.

The fire started when the electric scooter, parked in front of Bhagirathi Shedthi's house, suddenly caught fire. The flames spread to the TVS Jupiter scooter parked nearby. Additionally, the fire damaged the house's electricity meter board, slab, windows, door, wall, and tiles. Fortunately, no injuries to people or animals were reported.

The house's residents were asleep when a loud explosion woke them up around 4:30 am. Upon rushing outside, they were shocked to find the electric scooter in flames. Although they had a water pump, it couldn't be used as the electricity had been cut off. Neighbors quickly arrived and helped extinguish the fire. Mahesh Shetty, a resident, noted that locals pushed a car parked nearby, preventing it from catching fire.

Mahesh Shetty, along with his wife, child, and mother-in-law, lived in the house. Kota police visited the scene and are investigating further.

Not only avoid using electric vehicles but also avoid parking next to one...until there are strict regulations for EV. Remember EVs are costlier than conventional, difficult to repair, and as far as pollution is concerned as long as 70 % electricity is produced from coal ....they are still polluting but it is at the source.
