Mangaluru: Consumer Court orders car seller to pay compensation for defective battery

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Sep 15: The city’s consumer court has ordered a car dealership to compensate a customer for issues with a car battery that arose during the warranty period. The dealership had failed to address the grievance despite repeated complaints.

Dr Usha, a veterinary doctor from Puttur, had purchased the vehicle from the dealership, which has branches in Bejai and Boluvaru.

The car’s battery encountered problems before the warranty period ended, but the company did not respond to Dr Usha’s repeated complaints.

After Dr Usha filed a complaint with the consumer court, an inquiry was conducted.

The court has now directed the dealership to provide compensation to Dr Usha for their failure to resolve the issue.

I too faced a similar situation with the amaron distributor based at pumpwell and had to fight with them to get my battery replaced which was one year old I had to lodge a complaint with the manufacturer to get the same.I was lucky to have got it settled early, probably because of my post otherwise the common person will have to run from pillar to post to get the same.
