Udupi: Onam celebration held at IMJ Institute of Science and Commerce, Moodlakatte

Udupi, Sep 16: The Fine Arts Association of Moodlakatte IMJ Institution of Science and commerce organized Onam celebration at college premises, on September 14.

Dr Prathibha M Patel, principal spoke about the significance of the Onam festival, its associated cultural traditions, and the importance of cultural exchange in India.

During the event, prizes were distributed for the 'Eco-Friendly Ganesha Idol' competition held in conjunction with Ganesh Chaturthi. Sinchana and team from 2nd BCA won First place, while Apoorva and team from 2nd BCA secured Second place. Additionally, Akshata of I BCA was awarded a prize for winning the 'Mosaru Kudike' competition organized for Krishna Janmashtami.

In the Pookalam competition, Suhani and team of 1st BBA won first place, Nirosha and team of 3rd BCA grabbed second place, and Rakshita and team of 3rd BCom secured third place. In the cultural competitions, the final-year students won first prize, second-year students secured second place, and first-year students took third place. The students who gave an outstanding performance in ‘Chende Vaadanam’ received a cash prize as encouragement from Farhana, assistant professor of Computer Science, MITK who judged the cultural competition.

Rashitha of 2nd BCA mastered the ceremony.

The event was graced by the presence of principal, Dr Prathibha M Patel, vice-principal Jayasheel Kumar, Fine Arts coordinators Rakshita Adiga and Nidhi, along with student coordinators Nirosha and Sinchan from 3rd BCA.
