Highly-anticipated Konkani film 'Payann' to release on Sep 20

Mangaluru, Sep 18: The highly anticipated Konkani film 'Payann' (Journey), produced under the banner of 'Sangeet Ghar, Mangalore’, is all set to release on September 20.

From the very beginning, the teaser of this film, which has intrigued many, received a flood of praises from Konkani film enthusiasts. The trailer also garnered an unexpected level of excitement and positive response. Premieres in Mangaluru and Puttur have already seen full houses, with viewers praising 'Payann' as a milestone in Konkani cinema.

The film is produced by Neeta Peris. The story, screenplay, and dialogues are written and directed by Joel Pereira, while the lyrics are by Melvyn Peris, and the music is composed by Roshan D'Souza Angelore.

Brian Sequeira, a young talent from Puttur, stars as the lead actor, with Jasmine D'Souza, Kate Pereira, and Shaina D'Souza playing the lead female roles. Supporting actors include Rynel Sequeira, Leslie Rego, Jerry Rasquinha, Walter Nandalike, Jeevan Vas, Jossey Rego, and Melisha Pinto.

Cinematography is handled by V Ramanjaneya, and the editing is done by Mavin Joel Pinto, Shirthady.

The film has been shot in and around Mangaluru, Udupi, and surrounding areas.

'Payann' will be released simultaneously on September 20 in Mangaluru, Suratkal, Padubidri, Udupi, Kundapur, and Puttur. Release dates in Mumbai and Gulf countries have already been scheduled.

'Payann' is a story about a musician's journey to discover that genuine harmony in life requires more than just expertise in musical art. As he navigates the challenges of the music industry, he faces personal demons, deceptions, and unexpected traps.
