Mangaluru: St Agnes PU College celebrates Onam

Mangaluru, Sep 18: St Agnes PU College celebrated Onam on the September 14 amidst much fanfare. The celebrations started in the morning as the students gathered to prepare the traditional Pookalam, a colorful flower carpet.

The pookalam was designed with intricate pattern and various flowers were used to create the design adding the beauty and festivity of the day. The celebration was inaugurated by the principal, vice principal, staff and a student representative with the lighting of the lamp.

The students performed a mesmerizing Thiruvathira Kali dance reflecting the grace and traditional elegance associated with this dance form. A selection of onam songs was presented, adding a melodious touch to the festivities. Students also displayed their talent and enthusiasm through a series of traditional dance performances.

To add a touch of excitement and fun, various spot games were conducted. The arrival of Mahabali was the center of attraction for the students. Students and staff came dressed in traditional Kerala attire enhancing the festive spirit. The programme was ably compered by Shreya and Arya.
