Two Rajasthan Businessmen Held for Raping Delhi Student

New Delhi, Nov 22 (IANS): Two businessmen were arrested from Rajasthan's Bhiwadi town for raping in their car a 30-year-old south Delhi-based computer course student whom they met at a Gurgaon pub before taking her along with them in the vehicle, police said Tuesday.

Balwant Singh and his friend Mahesh, both employed in the dairy business, were arrested from Bhiwadi Sunday, police said.

The victim alleged that the two abducted her on the night of Nov 18 from near Andheria Morh in Mehrauli and raped her in their moving car. Later, they dumped her at an isolated spot in Bhiwadi.

During investigation, police found that the woman actually had met the two in a pub at a mall in Gurgaon in Haryana and that she was not abducted by them.

The woman lives in a rented accommodation in Vasant Kunj in south Delhi and is pursuing a computer diploma course.

She alleged was that the two had forcibly dragged her into their car near Andheria Morh.

"But scrutiny of her phone call details did not show her location in that area on that night," said a police officer.

Since the woman insisted with her rape allegations, she was sent for medical examination which confirmed sexual assault, he said.

A rape case was registered and the two men were arrested from their house in Bhiwadi.

During interrogation, the accused denied the abduction allegation and claimed that everything happened with the woman's consent.

They said that the woman was demanding extra money which they refused to pay and this led to a quarrel between them.

"The woman stepped out of the car somewhere in Bhiwadi and made a police call," added the officer.
