Mangaluru, Sep 20: The Management Forum of Institute of Aviation Studies, Srinivas University organised Vivaadh- A debate competition and face painting competition on September 19 for the students of BBA Aviation Studies.
The event, aimed at encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork, witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across various batches.
The debate competition centred around contemporary issues, with topics such as whether healthcare should be free for all, whether video games should be banned, and whether the westernisation of culture is beneficial or harmful and many more. This tested the participants ability to argue, reason, and present their views coherently.
Teams of two competed, each debating topics that sparked lively discussions and highlighted diverse perspectives. Judges evaluated the participants on their clarity of speech, depth of knowledge, and persuasive ability.
Simultaneously, the face painting competition, based on optical illusion, allowed students to showcase their artistic talents. Participants used vivid colours and imaginative designs to bring their creative visions to life, adding an artistic flair to the day's activities.
The winners of the Vivaadh- A debate competition were Ashley Lobo and Aston Silvan D’Souza (I year Aviation and Logistics Management) while the second prize was bagged by Abdulla Muhsin M & Mohammed Hudaif (II Year Aviation and Logistics Management).
The winners of the face painting competition were Malavika V V and Thaha R (II Year Aviation and Logistics Management).
At the conclusion of both competitions, the winners were recognised with certificates, which were presented during the award ceremony. The ceremony was graced by Dr Pavithra Kumari, dean of the Institute of Aviation Studies, along with the head of the department, Anjana T V, and other faculty members. The event was a tremendous success, showcasing the students debating prowess and artistic creativity, while promoting a spirit of healthy competition.
