Kundapur: Rosary Credit Co-operative Society Ltd celebrates Rs 1,000 crore turnover milestone

Kundapur, Sep 21: The esteemed Rosary Credit Co-operative Society Ltdan is celebrating a significant achievement, having reached a remarkable Rs 1,000 crore turnover. With a legacy of over 32 years, the society has earned the trust of thousands of customers by providing prompt and valuable services.

This success is attributed to the capable leadership of president Johnson D’Almeida and his dedicated team of directors. The grand celebrations will take place on Sunday, September 22, at the Sahana Convention Centre in Koteshwara, Kundapura, starting at 11 am.

Johnson D’Almeida will preside over the event, which will feature distinguished guests, including Fr Paul Rego, Dr M N Rajendra Kumar, Walter Nandalike, Lavanya K R, and Kiran Melwyn Lobo.

Brief history of Rosary Credit Co-operative Society Ltd

The society’s journey began 32 years ago at Rosary Church, Kundapura, during a meeting led by Clifford D’Souza aimed at improving financial conditions for the underprivileged.

Officially registered on December 11, 1992, it opened its first branch in Byndoor and later relocated its headquarters to Kundapura's Mastikatte in 2000.

The society’s growth continued with the inauguration of a modern two-storey building in 2008 and the opening of additional branches. By its silver jubilee, it had accumulated deposits worth Rs 44 crore and distributed loans totaling Rs 41 crore.

Since Johnson D’Almeida took over in 2015, the society has experienced rapid expansion, gaining state-level recognition and winning multiple awards. Currently, Rosary Credit operates 12 branches with over Rs 1,045 crores in transactions, focusing on education, health assistance, and housing support for those in need.

Looking ahead, the society plans to enhance its infrastructure and services, aiming for sustained growth across the state.
