Kundapur, Sep 25: Five people were injured in a collision between a private bus heading to Kollur and a pick-up vehicle transporting pepper near Jannal, Iduru Kunjadi in Kollur police station limits.
The bus was reportedly carrying over 30 passengers. The accident occurred when a pick-up vehicle transporting pepper from Kollur collided with the private bus traveling from Kundapur towards Kollur. As a result of the impact, the bus driver lost control, causing the bus to overturn.
Among the injured were passengers from the bus as well as the driver and staff of the pick-up vehicle. The injured have been identified as Raghavendra (43), Wasim (30), Amrutha (17), Prathistha (16), and Akith (28). They were rushed to a private hospital in Kundapur.
Raghavendra and Wasim were in the pick-up vehicle, while the others were college students traveling on the bus. Both vehicles were severely damaged in the accident. A case has been registered at the Kollur police station.
