Moodbidri: Carmel School celebrates World Heart Day

Moodbidri, Oct 2: On the occasion of World Heart Day Carmel School, Moodbidri organized a special event to raise awareness about heart health. The programme took place on September 30 and was graced by the presence of Dr Remya R as the chief guest. The event was meticulously organized with the involvement of students and staff highlighting the importance of maintaining a healthy heart.

The event commenced with a warm welcome by the masters of ceremony Yahya Mohammad Rizwan Fathima Shanum and Kane Preeth Fernandes who set the tone for the day. Following this, Janelle Haganha and Joaan Riana Pinto extended a heartfelt welcome to the audience ensuring everyone felt engaged and ready for the session.

Tr Veena R Shetty introduced the chief guest Dr Remya R. She was welcomed with enthusiasm and appreciation for taking the time to share her knowledge and expertise on heart health.

Riana Rachel Pais presented the significance of World Heart Day emphasizing the need to take care of the hearts thus reducing risk factors and make healthier lifestyle choices. She shed light on the global efforts to combat heart disease, the leading cause of death worldwide.

The event's highlight was a step-by-step explanation of how to take care of the hearts delivered by Melroy Tauro. Melroy’s presentation included practical tips on maintaining a balanced diet, regular exercise managing stress and avoiding harmful habits like smoking. This was an informative and engaging session that provided everyone with actionable insights.

The chief guest Dr Remya R then took to the stage and addressed the audience emphasizing the importance of heart health. She discussed preventive measures common heart diseases and how making simple lifestyle changes can have a significant impact on long-term health. Her insightful speech was well-received by students and staff alike.

Sr Maria Gracilda A C, the principal of Carmel School also spoke on the occasion stressing the importance of protecting the hearts and adopting heart-healthy habits from a young age. She encouraged students to be mindful of their health and spread awareness among their families and communities.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shannon and Devik who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, principal, teachers and students for making the event a success.

The World Heart Day celebration at Carmel School was an enlightening experience for all reinforcing the importance of heart health and the role all should play in safeguarding their well-being.
