Jodhpur, Nov 28 (IANS): A Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) team left for Delhi Sunday after examining some lime kilns in rural areas here for three days in search of the body of missing nurse Bhanwari Devi, sources said.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had called the CFSL team to Jodhpur on suspicion that the nurse's body was disposed off in a lime kiln.
"The team has left after gathering some evidence from the lime kilns in Pipar and Bilara areas here," an officer said.
Bhanwari Devi had gone missing from Jodhpur's Bilara area Sep 1. Prominent Jat leader Mahipal Maderna was sacked from the state cabinet by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot Oct 16 over allegations that he had a role in her disappearance. Maderna allegedly features on a CD in a compromising position with Bhanwari Devi.
It was alleged that the nurse had started blackmailing Maderna on the basis of a CD showing them in a compromising position.
Sources said that Shahabuddin, the key suspect in Bhanwari Devi kidnapping case who has been arrested by the CBI, has revealed that the nurse is dead.
The CBI Sunday interrogated more people including some small-time politicians in connection with the case.
