Kasargod: Udaya Higher Secondary School celebrates Gandhi Jayanti

Kasargod, Oct 3: Udaya Higher Secondary School observed Gandhi Jayanti on October 2 in a special assembly held in the school auditorium. The programme, organized by students and staff, paid tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, and reflected on his ideals of non-violence, truth, and simplicity.

The event began with an introduction by the masters of ceremony, Izzah Kadheeja (grade 6) and Ziya Fathima (grade 4), who set a vibrant tone for the proceedings. Alina Sijo of grade 7 delivered a warm welcome speech, followed by Sahithya (grade 7) who highlighted the significance of Gandhi Jayanti.

A mime show, led by Prinson and his team, captivated the audience as they depicted the values of peace and non-violence in a creative performance. This was followed by insightful speeches. Vinutha, the guest teacher, encouraged everyone to imbibe the values taught by Mahatma Gandhi. The campus director, Fr Santhosh D’Souza, emphasized that non-violence is about maintaining discipline and tolerance in daily life. Principal Ivan Jerald Ivan Crasta urged the students to internalize the values exhibited in each segment of the programme.

The event also featured a lively quiz competition, with Nishitha and Irene serving as quizmasters. Blue house secured first place, followed by yellow house in second.

The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Rushda (grade 4), expressing gratitude to all those who made the event a success.
