St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrates Gandhi Jayanti

Mangaluru, Oct 3: St Aloysius Gonzaga School celebrated 155th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Father of the Nation, on October 2. The chief guest of the programme, commander K Vijay Kumar (Indian Navy, retired) addressed the students by highlighting the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and gave a call to imbibe the virtues of truth and non-violence in their lives.

Principal Fr Melwyn Anil Lobo SJ in his address emphasised the values of Mahatma Gandhi such as non-violence, truth, peace and love. The students showcased a cultural programme highlighting values practiced by Mahatma.

A video on the life of Mahatma Gandhi was played. The programme included Sarva-dharma prayer and was concluded with Shramadaan. Vice-principals Laurel D’Souza and Aparna Suresh were present.

Prizes and certificates were distributed to national level Spell Bee rank holders and CBSE sports achievers. Ehan Ismail of class VII welcomed the gathering. Monali Gowda of class III proposed the vote of thanks. The programme was compered by Sana and Ashmita of class VII. Pawan Kumar, Shubha and harlet coordinated the programme.
