Udupi: Car hits divider in Udyavar; Kaup MLA, locals help rescue injured

Udupi, Oct 5: A car hit the divider in Udyavar after the driver lost control while traveling from Udupi to Padubidri.

Kaup MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, who was en route to Kaup, noticed the accident and immediately stepped in to help. Along with social worker Nithyananda Volakadu, he arranged for the injured to be transported to the hospital. BJP zone president Jitendra Shetty and local residents also assisted in the rescue efforts.

According to sources, the passengers in the car were residents of Mumbai and were heading to Padubidri to attend a religious function.

Five people were travelling in the car. Two of them were seriously injured and have been admitted to a private hospital in Manipal.
