Udupi, Oct 8: Several two-wheelers skidded, causing minor injuries to riders, after oil leaked onto the road from an unidentified vehicle near the city bus stand on Monday.

Local residents reported that seven to eight two-wheeler riders had fallen due to the slippery road. Fire service personnel were promptly alerted and sprayed water to clear the oil from the road, ensuring it was safe for traffic. The operation was conducted by Padmanabha Kanchan, Divakar, and Arun from the fire service department, with support from social worker Nityananda Olakadu.

The source of the oil spill and the vehicle responsible remain unknown. The oil leak was noticed along the stretch from Shiribeedu Junction to Kalsanka. Locals have urged the police to review CCTV footage to identify the vehicle involved in the mishap.

At least once in months fire department of Udupi got some job to do... Not wishing that they should be busy but I se them everyday evening during my walk... Callously careless and not ready at all for immediate dispatch of emergency help... If any of you wish you too can have a look anytime of the day... Only morning drill is the day's lone activity looks like...
