Mumbai, Nov 30 (IANS): A benchmark index for Indian equities started Wednesday with a negative bias and slipped below the 16,000-mark.
The 30-scrip sensitive index (Sensex) of the BSE, which opened at 15,868.96 points, was ruling at 15,920.66 points about 10 minutes into trade, 87.68 points or 0.55 percent down from its previous close at 16,008.34 points.
The 50-scrip S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange was also trading lower at 4,778.45 points, down 0.55 percent or 26.65 points from its previous close.
Broader markets were ruling subdued with the BSE 500 index down 0.4 percent.
