Mangaluru: Sr Zeena D‘Souza, SRA elected superior general of Missionary Sisters

Mangaluru, Oct 11: Sr Zeena D’Souza SRA was elected as the superior general of the Missionary Sisters of the Queen of the Apostles (SRA) on October 5 during their General Chapter 2024.

Daughter of late Abraham D’Souza and Alice D’Souza, born on April 15, 1966, Sr Zeena hails from Kudripadav, belongs to little flower parish Niddodi.

Sr Zeena joined the Missionary sisters of the queen of the apostles (SRA) in 1982. Made religious profession on December 8, 1988, at Vamanjoor, Mangaluru and final vows in December 8, 1995.

Did her integrated course in communications in Ishvani Kendra, Pune, in 1990.

Served at Sandesha Regional communication centre from 1991-1993

Studied for bachelor in theology (BTh) at Jnana deep Vidya Peet 1998-2001. There after served in the initial formation and juniorate formation of the missionary sisters.

She was sent to Rome for Licentiate in Spirituality and masters in communication at Gregorian university, Rome from 2003-2006.

She was appointed as provincial councillor of Mangaluru Province in 2006, and as provincial superior for two consecutive terms from 2011-2018. At the completion of the term the General Chapter of the Congregation in 2018 elected her as the general councillor for the term of six years, was residing in Vienna, and got elected as superior general of the congregation.
