Bantwal, Oct 13: "Congress candidate for the MLC by-election, Raju Poojary, is someone everyone will be proud of. His experience far surpasses that of the BJP candidate. Voters should consider themselves as candidates and vote for Raju Poojary to ensure his victory," said Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dinesh Gundu Rao.

He was speaking at a meeting of elected representatives and party workers of the Bantwal legislative assembly constituency on Friday at Sparsha Kalamandira, B C Road, organized by the Bantwal Block Congress and Panemangaluru Block Congress.

Dinesh emphasized, "Everyone must put aside laziness and negativity and work tirelessly for the victory of Raju Poojary, who has experience in student unions, party organization, local bodies, and cooperatives. If we want to restore Congress' influence in Dakshina Kannada, every step must be bold. Winning Dakshina Kannada is akin to winning Karnataka."

Former minister B Ramanatha Rai remarked, "This is a great opportunity to show our gratitude to the party. Congress-backed candidates should also work to win over voters from other parties. Let us not forget the changes Congress brought to the Panchayat system."

The event was presided over by district Congress president Harish Kumar. MLC Manjunatha Bhandary highlighted, "Raju Poojary has been connected with Congress since childhood, with experience in gram, taluk, and zilla panchayats. He should win through first-priority votes, and his victory will boost the upcoming taluk and zilla panchayat elections."

Raju Poojary expressed, "I have grown up witnessing the dedication of leaders like Ramanath Rai. The party has given me a great opportunity, and I seek everyone's cooperation in this election."

MLC Ivan D’Souza, and leaders G A Bawa, Pius L Rodrigues, Chandraprakash Shetty, Ashwin Kumar Rai, Vasu Poojary, Subhashchandra Shetty, Padmashekhar Jain, Mayilappa Salian, Baby Kunder, Sudeep Kumar Shetty, Padmanabha Rai, and Abbas Ali were also present.

Panemangaluru Block Congress president Chandrashekhar Bhandary welcomed the gathering, while Bantwal Block Congress president Balakrishna Anchan delivered the vote of thanks. Kodaje Balakrishna Alva compered the program.

Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao also noted, "The BJP is spreading false propaganda to destabilize the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government. Don't fall for their lies. The Congress government will complete its five-year term."
