Udupi, Oct 14: Adani Group’s Adani Power Limited – Udupi TPP’s in hands with its CSR wing Adani Foundation on October 14 inaugurated the newly constructed concrete road in the limits of Palimar gram panchayat in Kaup taluk, Udupi district.
A Kuchcha road – Nadiyaru – Kunyali road measuring a length of nearly 150 metres, which was concreted under the community infrastructure development project of Adani Foundation’s CSR at a cost of Rs. 15 lac, was made opened to the villages with the formal inauguration by Kishore Alva, executive director & president of Adani Group and Sowmyalatha Shetty, president of Palimar gram panchayat.
Speaking on the road unveiling occasion, Kishore Alva informed that Adani Foundation has executed this work based on the Kriya Yojana / Annual Action plan submitted by Palimar gram panchayat during the year 2023-24. He said that Adani has earmarked a grant of Rs 3 cr exclusively for infrastructure development in the rural areas of Palimar gram panchayat and till date the development works worth Rs 1.45 cr has been already completed and delivered to the GP, in addition to other social development works under education, health and promotion of rural sports. Palimar GP has already submitted its action plan for the FY 2024-25 and Adani Foundation has already floated the tenders and the work will be implemented at the earliest, he added.
Sowmyalatha Shetty, president of Palimar gram panchayat thanked Adani Foundation for extending the CSR projects to Palimar villages and she expressed happiness that villagers are getting the benefits of CSR programmes of Adani Foundation. She said that the long pending demand by the villagers, especially farmers for development of Kunyali road has been fulfilled through CSR of Adani.
Shashidhar, panchayat development officer of Palimar GP, delivered vote of thanks on behalf of Panchayat. The panchayat members Satish Devadiga, Yogananda Kukkiyan, Jayashree Acharya, Praveen Adve were present on the occasion. Ravi R Jere, AGM from Adani Power Limited, Anudeep and Dheeraj from Adani Foundation joined hands in unveiling programme.
