Kundapur, Oct 14: MP B Y Raghavendra urged local body members to unite and ensure the BJP candidate's victory in the upcoming MLC election, stressing that it is crucial for the development of rural areas. He emphasized that the BJP is the only party that promotes grassroots workers to higher levels of governance.

Raghavendra made these remarks during a campaign meeting for BJP local body members at the Sri Ranganatha auditorium in Siddapur on Monday.

He also highlighted the party’s stance on the Kasturirangan report, stating that while protecting nature is essential, human-inhabited areas should be excluded from the report’s forest inclusion.

MP Srinivasa Poojary added that the BJP government increased the honorarium for gram panchayat members and criticized the Congress for its mismanagement, claiming their victory would strengthen anti-national elements.

BJP candidate Kishore Kumar Puttur, along with MLAs Gururaja Gantihole and Kiran Kumar Kodgi, sought votes for the party. Several BJP leaders, including Udupi district BJP vice president Rajesh Kaveri and election incharge Arun, were present.

Byndoor Mandala president Deepak Kumar Shetty welcomed the gathering, with Umesh Shetty Kalgadde compering the event. Siddapura Mahashakti Kendra president Praveen Kumar Shetty delivered the vote of thanks.
