In response to rising tensions, the district administration sent tahsildar D Archana Bhat and a team of officials to engage with the community. Their efforts led to the cancellation of a planned protest set for Tuesday, October 15.

During discussions, tahsildar Bhat assured residents that a meeting with the deputy commissioner would take place within a week to address alternative routes. Initially reluctant to back down, local leaders demanded concrete commitments.

MLA Rajesh Naik intervened, promising the community that an alternative road would be established and a temporary route location identified. His assurances prompted the protest committee to withdraw their self-imposed bundh.

The Bantwal taluk panchayat executive officer Sachin, along with protest committee leaders like Venkatesh Naud, Jayaram Krishna, Abubakar Ammunze, Kishore Pallipadi, Lokesh Polali, U.P. Ibrahim, and Chandrahasa Pallipadi, were present during these discussions.

As tensions eased, the Bantwal taluk panchayat executive officer and protest leaders emphasised the urgent need for solutions. They warned that if no action is taken within a week, protests would resume. The community remains determined to secure a reliable route and restore normalcy to their lives.
