Udupi: IMD issues five-day heavy rain alert in dist; precautionary measures in place

Udupi, Oct 15: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rainfall over the next five days in Udupi district as of October 15. The alert from IMD Thiruvananthapuram advises residents to prepare for significant downpours.

In response, the district administration has implemented precautionary measures for the public. Citizens are advised to avoid venturing into the sea and to take necessary precautions during this period. Officials have been instructed to take proactive measures to manage potential calamities.

Clear warnings have been issued to tourists and the public, particularly children, advising against approaching the sea, rivers, and other water bodies during the alert. Fishermen are also urged to exercise caution.
