Mangaluru: Scooter rams into tree, rider dies

Mangaluru, Oct 16: In a tragic accident, a scooter rider lost control and collided with a tree, resulting in his death on Wednesday in Sharada Nagar, Madoor.

The deceased is identified as Nagesh (51), a resident of Madoor.

He was an employee at a private hospital, working as bus staff. The accident occurred while he was on leave, heading home after purchasing coconuts from Beeri market.

The incident was captured on CCTV. Mangaluru south traffic police ASI Yashwanth visited the spot and registered a case.

    2 wheelers especially scooters have very high acceleration and speed which the riders sometimes unable to control and cause accidents. With most of them not wearing branded helmets cause fatal accidents. After they ram into other vehicles due to lack of control due to high speed the opposite vehicle owners get the blame and has to face litigations which should be addressed by new laws taking into consideration all the parameters.
