Lucknow, Dec 2: Amidst the shadow of CBI probe in National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scheme scam, the State Health Mission (SHM) team met for the first time on Thursday.
The SHM committee was constituted in 2006 but it met for the first time in 2011.
Chaired by by health minister, Naseemuddin Siddiqui, the SHM gave lauded the steps taken for improving medical and health care in the state under NRHM scheme.
Siddiqui also launched a website for Janni Suraksha Yojana (JSY) which will include all the details of beneficiaries and update of the scheme. Under the JSY, financial benefit is extended to the mother for institutional delivery. However, JSY is marred with corruption with fudged records for siphoning funds. CBI which is probing the issue found that a single woman was shown as having three deliveries in a
year to drain the funds.
The much hyped Mobile Medical Services was also highlighted as another achievement. CBI is already probing the case where 988 ambulances were purchased at higher rates and the vehicles were parked for whole one year without any usage. "We are running 133 ambulances in 15 districts while remaining will be on roads soon," said an official.
Meanwhile CBI continued its raids in several districts to scan documents related to NRHM scam on Thursday.
