Puttur: Students of St Philomena PU College shine in state level sports meet

Puttur, Oct 21: Students of St Philomena PU College, excelled at the state level sports meet for Pre-University students (2024-25), organized by the department of school education. They brought laurels to the college by securing numerous medals.

The competition was held in Bengaluru South, Basavanagudi on October 16.

The swimmers were trained by Partha Varanashi, Niroop G R, Deekshith Rao and Rohith Prakash. They were guided by Dr Elias Pinto and Rajesh Mooliya.

The correspondent, Fr Lawrence Mascarenhas, Mai De Deus Educational Institutions and the principal, Fr Ashok Rayan Crasta congratulated the following students:

1) Anvith Rai Barike (I PCME 'E') has bagged 1 silver medal in 4x100 free style relay and 1 bronze in 50 mts butterfly.

2) Diganth V S (I PCMC 'E') won silver medal in 4×100 medley relay.

3) Pradhi Clare Pinto (I PCMB 'C') won 3 bronze medals in 200 mts back stroke, 4×100 mts medley relay and 4×100 mts free style relay.

4) R Aman Raj (I PCME 'E') participated in the competition.
