Bantwal: 76-yr-old pedestrian Injured in accident with construction grinder; police complaint filed

Bantwal, Oct 22: A 76-year-old pedestrian, Padmanabha Shenoi, was injured after being struck by a construction grinder near Bolangadi, close to Melkar. The incident occurred while Shenoi was walking along the roadside during ongoing roadwork on the National Highway, managed by KNR Construction Company.

Witnesses report that the driver, Rajkumar Yadav, operated the grinder (TS-36-C-6757) recklessly, suddenly veering from the Melkar side and collided with Shenoi without a warning.

Shenoi has been hospitalised in Mangaluru for treatment. His son, Guruprasad, has filed a complaint with the Melkar Traffic Police, who are investigating the incident and have visited the scene.
