Ranchi, Dec 4 (IANS): The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) was set for victory in the Mandu assembly bypoll as its candidate took a huge lead over the Congress nominee.
JMM's Jay Prakash Patel was leading by 15,750 votes over Congress's Kumar Mahesh Singh after 11 round of the counting.
As many as 22 candidates are in the fray for the bypoll that took place Nov 30 and recorded 60 percent polling. However, the main competition is between the JMM, Congress and the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha-Prajatantrik (JVM-P).
The seat fell vacant after the death of JMM legislator Teklal Mahto.
