Udupi: 'Krishi Mela-2024' to be held at Brahmavar on Oct 26, 27

Udupi, Oct 24: The Keladi Shivappa Nayaka University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga, will organise a two-day "Krishi Mela-2024" at the Zonal Agricultural and Horticultural Research Center in Brahmavar on October 26 and 27.

Dr. Dhananjaya B, head of the Brahmavar centre, announced at a press meet on Thursday, October 24 that the fair will be inaugurated by Udupi district Deputy Commissioner Dr K Vidyakumari on October 26 at 10:30 am, with entrepreneur Anand C Kundar inaugurating the agricultural exhibition.

Notable guests will include Dr. R C Jagadeesh, vice-chancellor of the university, Dr. K T Gurumurthy, director of Agricultural Extension, and Dr B M Dushyant Kumar, Director of Research.

The fair will feature seminars on both days. The first day includes a session at 2 pm on "Areca-based Agriculture" and "Beekeeping." On the second day, starting at 10 am, discussions will cover "Farm and Livestock Development in Advanced Agriculture," followed by a session at 2 pm on "Value Addition in Areca and Jackfruit."

The agricultural fair will showcase over 200 stalls featuring agricultural technologies and equipment developed by various government and private organisations.

The press meet was attended by Chief Researcher Dr. K V Sudheer Kamath, senior field supervisor Dr M Shankar, and Principal Dr Lakshan of the Brahmavar Diploma Agricultural College.
